Editorial Review for Chicago Prime Steakhouse – by Alice Van Housen
The Scene
Handsome
and serene, this dining oasis near Woodfield Mall is clubby but not
macho, refined but not stuffy. Savvy servers do the whole meat-tray
thing, and background jazz (live on Thursday, Friday and Saturday)
helps guests relax amid the upholstered dark wood booths and dramatic
drapery. An inviting lounge completes the scenario.
The Food
The
classic steakhouse fare stars prime beef and fresh seafood, with some
twists like pork chops in a blueberry-bourbon sauce and grilled Alaskan
king salmon. The wonderful beef menu has a cut for every carnivore's
taste. Juicy, slurpy-good oysters Rockefeller are highlights, and plump
shrimp cocktail is just right. The menu satisfies steakhouse
expectations with favorites like Caesar salad, twice-baked potato and
creamed spinach.
